I just read Juggernaut Training’s http://www.jtsstrength.com/articles/2015/09/29/what-common-mistakes-do-you-see-lifters-making/ and there is a lot of great points on here.
Several of them point out focusing on basics, programming and training mentality.
One of the points that I really was interested in speaking on was Greg Panora’s thought.
“Greg Panora – Worrying too much about the last 2% (Supplements, wraps, shoes, etc) and not enough about diet, training and technique which should be ALL they should worry about.”
Now don’t get me wrong, we all love getting a new belt, wraps or pre workout but this is a hooooooge point that he made and I love it!
I coach Strongman at a Crossfit gym in Elkton, Maryland and one common mistake I see is that everyone wants to look the part before they even walk in the door. I am not just picking on Crossfit gyms here, I see it at local bro gyms, powerlifting crews and of course Strongman competitors. Everyone wants the best supportive gear for lifting but don’t have much of a clue how to lift.

Do yourself a favor, avoid the walking advertisement for Reebok or Rehband and get with someone that knows what they are tlaking about. Put in stupid amount of work and learn to take care of yourself while lifting.
